As the first month of 2024 is almost gone and our holiday season is well behind us. We are once again setting our sails to further Gaymers United across the globe.
But before we set our sails and depart on the next stretch of our journey, we would like to take a moment to look back at what we’ve achieved last year. For us 2023 was a year of starting up, getting to know you and establishing our identity. And we can clearly see that in the goals we achieved:
- We have introduced our logo and identity;
- We have created and introduced our website;
- We have started to expand our community not trough only Discord, but also trough other social media like Facebook and Instagram;
- And also very important as a measure of success, we started out as a small community with only 22 members here on Discord, we finished the year with a slight grow to 33 members on Discord and 13 followers on our Facebook page;
Looking ahead for 2024, our focus will be mainly on growth, so its only fitting our 2024 goals are:
- Setting out our mission statement and vision. A rough draft has been made and will be shared with all of you soon;
- Overall growth, not just in members but also in visibility. And we want to achieve that by expanding on our social media precense, further optimization of Discord, merchandise, expanding our staff base with some job openings (more on that later). And for our growth, it’s very important that you, our community, are willing to help us grow by spreading the word and introducing new members to our community;
- Beter our Discord server by combining channels, improving our on-boarding and allowing for more flexibility in how we use the different sections on our Discord (More on that later);
- We are also looking at organizing or participating in some events, a few we have already lined up for this year are:
- February: RetroGameConZwolle game event in Zwolle, The Netherlands;
- March: Bremer Spieltage in Bremen, Germany;
- August: GamesCom in Cologne, Germany;
- November: Spellenspektakel, Utrecht, The Netherlands;
- Amusement parks, we we’re thinking Efteling, but feel free to make any suggestion on what park would be nice to visit;
- Dinner events, combined with maybe a Movie or perhaps an Escape Room;
To start the year of, we are introducing a minor change in our forum channels. We are adding some guidelines to the channels making it possible to speak any language other than English, we don’t mind deviating from out English language policy, but we would to ask that for every topic it’s clear what general language is spoken.
Signing of for now, and as always happy gaming.
