As we all start to wind down for our summer holidays, we are still going strong and are even more determined to make a big success out of Gaymers United. We are mostly working on minor changes and behind-the-scenes activities at the moment. However some of you might have already noticed some of our changes.
Code of Conduct:
Our code of conduct we asked all of you to agree to was just a placeholder with a basic set of rules. Over the last weeks we have been working on a updated version which more reflects us as a community. You might have already noticed the updated version on our code of conduct channel. And though it’s not necessary to see all the channels on our server, we do appreciate it if you would agree to the updated code of conduct. Together with this code of conduct, we have also revised our guidelines for our moderation team, more on this later.
Identity:
Now that our logo has been implemented, we are updating our overall identity. We have devised a set of colors as part of this identity based on the phycological meanings behind our core values (Open, safe, connecting, diversity, inclusion and equality), some of you might have already noticed that we have updated our roles to reflect those colors.
We have also designed a business card we can hand out at events such as gamescom, which will be attending on Saturday August 26th.
GameNights: Since some of you voted for planning GameNights, we took the liberty of setting a possible date for our first ever GameNight: 16/17th of September or 23rd/24th of September.
We are still looking for someone to host this first ever GameNight. Ever though of hosting your very own GameNight? Please contact one of our @staff members and we can discuss the options.
Promotion:
As part of our effort to promote our community we have opened up a page and group on facebook. We are also looking for the possibilities of teaming up with other communities such as Gaymers Deutschland or Gaymers US (on which we see a lot of european Gaymers) as means to promote and expand Gaymers United.
